Diffuse alveolar hemorrhage induced by inhalation of spray paint

Diffuse alveolar hemorrhage is a rare and severe condition associated with autoimmune disorders, infections, or toxic exposures. It may present with hemoptysis, dyspnea, fever, anemia, and pulmonary infiltrates, although up to one-third of cases lack hemoptysis. We report the case of a 41-year-old, obese, heavy smoker, exposed to aerosol
paint, who developed diffuse alveolar hemorrhage confirmed by chest CT. He was treated with antibiotics, corticosteroids, and oxygen therapy, resulting in clinical and radiological improvement. Toxic exposure was identified as the likely cause. The patient had a favorable outcome with no recurrence during follow-up.
