Abstract

Multinodular goiter is a rare cause of upper extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT). We present the case of an 80-year-old woman with multinodular goiter who developed left jugular, subclavian, axillary, and brachial DVT and external jugular vein thrombophlebitis due to extrinsic compression. Diagnosis was made using computed tomography (CT), and treatment was primarily based on anticoagulation. This case highlights the importance of considering thyroid compression as a cause of thrombosis. Although not used in our case, we highlight the increasing role of ultrasound in its diagnosis
