Abstract

Thrombus in atrial transit is an atypical presentation of pulmonar thromboembolism, occurring mainly in the right cavities. We present the clinical case of an 86-year-old man who came to the Emergency department due to deterioration in his general condition, edema in his lower limbs, and worsening of his baseline dyspnea in the context of intermediate-risk pulmonary thromboembolism. In this case, an echocardiography was important, as it revealed a thrombus in transit in the right cavities, indicating a high risk of recurrent pulmonary thromboembolism and clinical worsening.
