Abstract

Pneumocystis jirovecii (PJ) pneumonia is an opportunistic infection with a low incidence in patients with autoimmune
and/or inflammatory diseases, but it is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Primary prophylaxis
is not routinely recommended, so it is important to identify factors that predispose to a higher risk of
developing this infection in order to ensure the earliest possible diagnosis and treatment.
