Metastatic vulvar melanoma: a rare condition

Melanoma is one of the most aggressive malignant skin tumours. Genital melanoma is rare; it has a higher incidence of metastasis due to delayed diagnosis caused by its location, which is difficult to examine, and it also carries
a poorer prognosis. We present the case of a 56-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes and a 3-year clinical history
characterized by a genital dermatosis. Skin biopsy identified melanoma, with positive immunohistochemistry for
PS-100 and HMB-45. Treatment in early stages involves surgical excision; in metastatic melanoma, biological therapy is indicated.
