Abstract

Primary peritoneal carcinoma is a malignant epithelial tumor that affects practically only women, being histologically identical to epithelial ovarian carcinoma and fallopian tube carcinoma, as part of the spectrum of Mullerian tumors. Although it is still very rare, in the last decade, we are experiencing an increase in its incidence (0.68 per 100,000 population/years). We present a 59-year-old female patient, whose main symptoms included increase hardness of the abdominal cavity, constipation and ascites, diagnosed of primary peritoneal tumor.
