Research data policy
Since this journal primarily publishes clinical case reports rather than research articles based on large datasets, the deposit of research data in external repositories is not required. However, if authors use previously published data or secondary databases (for example, clinical images, epidemiological data, or public case libraries), proper citation is recommended, and when possible, the following information should be included: the name of the repository or source, URL or persistent identifier (DOI, Handle, etc.), and the license for use and distribution.
In such cases, data should be cited following a standard reference format and included in the reference list. This ensures appropriate credit to the original data authors and facilitates traceability and further analysis by other researchers.
Data Availability Statement
When applicable, a brief statement should be included at the end of the manuscript, before the references, under the heading Data Availability Statement, indicating the type of data used, their origin, and how they can be accessed.
How to Cite
Data must be cited correctly following a specific citation format and should appear alongside the rest of the bibliographic references in the publication. This applies both to data collected by the article’s authors and to data used from other sources. Doing so promotes transparency in scientific research, ensures proper attribution, and supports the generation of data usage metrics and impact indicators. In addition to the complete bibliographic reference for the data, the citation must include the unique and permanent identifier of the repository where the data are hosted.
